Aronia berries are a berry that offer great health benefits. There are a number of local growers who are developing aronia berry crops and who are working together to develop a market for the crops once they are ready. The Rural Development Resource Center (RDRC), which serves southwest Iowa with its hub offices in Red Oak, have been offering a series of seminars to bring together those interested in aronia berry production, giving tools for growing the berries, for marketing and for maintaining financial records.
